Happy weekend, students and parents! We are finally back on track to start studying new skills at the beginning of the week. Yay! This week in reading, we will once again concentrate on the genre of free-verse, but this time, it will be free-verse poetry! All examples of poetry this week will be written in the first person point of view. We will be discussing how we know that the poems are first person as well as what we find out about our narrators because of that point of view. Lastly, we will be looking for three examples of figurative language within the poems: idioms, alliteration, and assonance. Be sure to check out the (hilarious) review videos included below. I think they will be really helpful. I'm also including several links to IXL practice of these skills. I hope y'all have a wonderful weekend!
